May Get-Together: Aberdour Castle and Gardens/St Fillan’s Church

In collaboration with Historic Environment Scotland, members of Fife Inclusion Network (FIN) project had the opportunity to continue learning interesting facts about the history of Scotland and visit historical gems across Fife. This time, it was a visit to Aberdour Castle and Gardens and St Fillan’s Church.
On the 20th of May 2026 our FIN group enjoyed a lovely walk and picnic in the fresh air. We explored the castle including its surviving painted celling, walled garden and terraces and spectacular beehive-shaped dovecot built. One of the members shared that she had been to Aberdour several times but had never realized there was such a beautiful place to explore.After the walk we had a relaxing picnic lunch in the garden and even a little rain could not spoil the friendly atmosphere.
On the day we also met our partner from Scottish Wildlife Trust, who told us about the projects they run and their upcoming Largo Bay event in June. So, FIN members can now plan their weekend if they wish to attend.
We are always happy to welcome new members to the Fife Inclusion Network and encourage people to share their ideas and suggestions for future activities and events. By growing the network together, we can create more opportunities to connect, learn, and support each other across Fife.
