Duration:           This is a fixed term post, funded till 30 June 2029.

Location:           Kirkcaldy, Fife.

Salary:              £20,308.25 pro-rata per annum (£33,848FTE) plus 7% employer’s contribution to an auto enrolment pension scheme

Reporting to:     Chief Executive, Fife Centre for Equalities

Fife Centre for Equalities (FCE) is a small team with big aspirations for equality and inclusion for all communities in Fife. The Human Rights Community of Practice Project Officer will work intersectionally with human rights defenders in Fife to promote learning, training, and awareness raising of human rights.

The project is designed to empower community leaders who want to work collaboratively and design learning for social cohesion across diverse communities. We will build from personal lived experience and lead onto connecting with shared human experiences for all Fifers and beyond. The aim of the community of practice is to grow together an understanding of ‘all our rights’ and to go beyond the limitations of the ‘my community’s rights, first and fore’ mindset.

You will have experience of engaging and advocating for under-represented communities to deliver policy or practice change, developing learning materials and of facilitating participatory groupwork. You’ll have either relevant qualifications or training in Social Work or Community Education, Adult Support and Protection (or and/or Child Protection) and bring a sound practical knowledge of equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights.

You’ll have skills, emotional intelligence and level-headedness required to build positive relationships with stakeholders from diverse viewpoints and life experiences.

Specific funding has been secured for the delivery of this exciting initiative to develop an enabling environment for human rights in Fife. The position is fixed term until end of 30 June 2029. For an informal discussion on the position, please call Elric Honoré, FCE Chief Executive, on 01592 645310. For an application pack, please telephone FCE on 01592 645310, email recruitment@centreforequalities.org.uk or visit our website here.

Closing date for applications: Monday 22 June 2026, 9am.

Please note that CVs will not be accepted. We are aiming for a fast recruitment round and project start but will extend the deadline if required. Interviews will be held during week commencing 29 June 2026. Earliest start date Monday 6 July 2026.
