Out and About:
In late January, FCE attended the Business and Community Reception at the Dunfermline Library & Galleries which was hosted by Kirsty McNeill MP, Minister for Scotland. It was a good opportunity to network and link with more local charities, public and private sector organisations to work together to help people in Fife. Gordon Agnew and Elric Honore (CEO), were there to represent FCE and bumped into our neighbours from New Volunteer House - with Alice and Chris from FCCAN too!

Fife Inclusion Network:

Fife Inclusion Network hosted their first Get-together of the year 2026 at Everyone Everyday community space in Mercat Shopping Centre, Kirkcaldy on the 28th of January. Our guests participated in a crafts activity i.e. making a traditional Ukrainian doll, demonstrated kindly by one of our Fife Inclusion Network members, with help from Companion Support volunteers. The get-together was well attended with over 30 participants enjoying the activity, over lunch and teas and coffees. New Scots coordinator, On Fife and Age Scotland representatives also joined the get-together on the day to extend the support they offer to our clients and share information about their projects.
Fife Inclusion Network (FIN) brings people from different communities together to discuss what matters to them in their local area and learn about activities in their community hubs. We also provide casework and one-to-one support. If you would like to learn more about the project or participate in one of our get-togethers, please get in touch with us.
For our next get-together, we’ll be celebrating Chinese New Year, with a Chinese cooking demo in Abbeyview, Dunfermline on the 25th of February. Keep an eye on our events, where further details and registration will be available soon.
We would like to thank the staff at Everyone Everyday hub for facilitating us on the day. Every One Every Day in Kirkcaldy area is co-funded by Corra Foundation, Fife Council, & The National Lottery Community Fund.
Interested in getting involved? Contact us using info@centreforequalities.org.uk, call 01592 645310 or text 07800 005834.
Fife Equalities Forum:

The next Fife Equalities Forum will be taking place on Wed 11 Feb from 14:00! This Forum will be an online session.
The forum members are interested in improving the diversity and inclusivity for their staff, volunteers and service users. They share achievements, promote current and future projects, share information on barriers faced by their communities and seek advice and help from each other.
FCE Community Roundtables:
Fife Centre for Equalities’ mission is to work in partnership and raise awareness of equality and diversity across communities in Fife.
Following feedback at our Fife Equalities Forum, we recently started a series of community roundtables focusing discussions on more specific topics - we held our Race and Ethnicity Roundtable in October, and our Disability Roundtable in November.
We’re currently planning for our LGBT+ Roundtable in February 2026.
If you represent a local group or initiative and are interested in getting involved with our roundtables, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we can arrange for a catch-up to understand your areas of work and your interest in collaborative approach to addressing inequalities for marginalised communities in Fife.

Kirkcaldy Reuse Project Conversation:

Are you interested in helping to reduce waste in Kirkcaldy, whilst providing people with access to goods when they need them? There are lots of ways that we could help to reduce waste in Kirkcaldy - it could be a tool library, a toy library, a carpet reuse scheme, a paint reuse scheme, or anything else that helps to reduce waste.
If you would like to help set up a reuse project locally, then come along to our meeting. You will hear about projects running in other areas, including a presentation by the Edinburgh Library of Things, and discuss the potential to set up a project in Kirkcaldy.
The conversation will be taking place at St. Bryce Kirk, Kirkcaldy from 19:00. Tea and biscuits will be provided.
For more information please contact pixiehorsman@yahoo.co.uk.
Interfaith Scotland - Information Event, Understanding the Windrush Scheme:

From Interfaith Scotland:
We’re excited to be working with the Windrush Engagement Team to share this important conversation.
Many people have heard of the Windrush Generation – those who came from Commonwealth countries to help rebuild Britain after the war, but not everyone knows about the difficulties some faced later in life, or the government schemes now in place to help support people.
This free online session will cover:
What happened during the Windrush scandal
Who may be eligible for help through the Windrush Schemes
How individuals and families can access support
Why does this matter for faith and community groups
Faith communities and local networks often play a vital role in supporting those who feel isolated or unsure where to turn. By learning about these schemes, you can help spread awareness and ensure that anyone affected knows there is help available.
If you would like to attend, please book you place via the Eventbrite link below. On booking, you will receive the link to join the session which can be accessed directly via the Eventbrite page.
Consultations to look out for
Transforming Kirkcaldy:
From Fife Council: "Fife Council is working towards a 20-year vision to transform Kirkcaldy for generations to come. This long-term process, which will take a phased, partnership approach, and has big aspirations – to boost the local economy, tackle poverty, improve public spaces, and strengthen community facilities.
The council is working to shape the overall ambition and programme of work for the town. As this progresses there will be lots of opportunities for communities to get involved in conversations about Kirkcaldy’s future and plans for different places and spaces. It will also build on the good things Kirkcaldy already has including great transport links, important heritage sites, growing tourism, and an active, passionate community."
Fife Council is looking for individuals and groups interested in sharing their views. For more information, click here.
