We've got lots of exciting updates to share with you all, from our new project announcements to all the latest partners news and consultations, have a read and find out more.

What have we been up to at FCE?
On Tue 11 August our Fife Inclusion Network team were at Cairnie Fruit Farm with some of their clients and families.
Our Fife Equalities Forum was online on the 12 August 2026 at 14:00. The Forum is about sharing updates, opportunities to work together and more.
On Wed 12 August 2026, we also awarded the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership their Silver Equality Pathfinders award! A massive congratulations to the team.
We held our LGBT+ roundtable on Wed 26 August 2026, inviting partners and practitioners from around Fife to share their experiences and current barriers.

Our Let's Chat service hopes to learn more about your views on services across Fife, what is working well about them and what may need extra improvements.

FCE Community Roundtables:
Our roundtables are an extension to our Fife Equalities Forum, as such are partner facing, offering a safe space for conversations, exchange of knowledge and promoting inclusive local initiatives. Through them we seek to understand what support is currently available for Fife's diverse communities and learn about the existing barriers they face.
We host a mix of roundtables with recurring themes and occasional topic specific discussions. We held our second LGBT+ roundtable on 26th August and thank all partners who joined us and contributed with their knowledge and experiences. Our upcoming roundtable themes include:

Anti-Poverty and Community Wealth-Building roundtable - 7th October 2026
Race and ethnicity roundtable - 29th Oct 2026
The participants represent local services, organisations and community groups. They join us to share insights from their areas of work and consider opportunities to collaborate, address existing barriers and improve the life outcomes for everyone in Fife. If you are interested in representing your initiative at one of our roundtables please feel free to get in touch with us.
We share a summary of the roundtable conversations on our website and any concerns raised during the discussions are shared with Fife Council and other relevant partners in Fife to support the connections for joint work.

Equality Pathfinders - Health and Social Care Partnership:
On Wednesday 12th August, we were proud to host at New Volunteer House the Equality Pathfinders celebration for the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership.
We were more than honoured to present 3 Silver Awards for the work done in meeting the equality challenges they had set for themselves. Truly, from the FCE team - thank you for your amazing courage, honesty and dedication.
It is fantastic to see the progress that has been made over the past few years, as the team identified and helped work towards reducing the challenges and barriers faced across their teams.

Out and About:
Lewis and Sarah were at the Trauma-Informed Practice in Fife: Networking Conference on Wed 26 Aug 2026 at the Glen Pavilion.
The conference was insightful and engaging, and gave us plenty of opportunities to connect with partners and new faces as well! It was great to discuss how sharing lived experiences can have a real impact on practice and service delivery.
It was interesting to hear from the National Trauma Transformation Programme, Better than Well, the lived experience team as well as the Resilience Learning Partnership.
Fife Inclusion Network:
Thank you to our steering group that gave us the fun idea of picnic and fruit picking at Cairnie Fruit Farm for our Aug Get-Together, spending a wonderful sunny day, with the fresh smell of nature and picking strawberries and cherries, it was a way to spend time together, meet new friends, enjoy the countryside and of course everyone couldn’t resist tasting the strawberries and cherries.
It was lovely to hear from our participants about all the great ways they could use their fruits, such as jam, tarts, milkshake, strawberries sauce, cheesecake, list go on….
By the end of the gathering, our punnets were full, filled with happy memories.

Fife Equalities Forum:
Our next session will take place on Wed 9 September 2026 from 14:00 online.
The Forum is a great opportunity to learn more about the different groups and organisations working in Fife, the barriers they are facing and how we can work together to improve things for everyone.

FCE Companion Support:
The Companion Support Project was created to build a network of volunteers who are passionate about reducing social isolation, connecting people and groups and making Fife a fairer place for all.
Funded by the Fife Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, our Companion Support (CS), volunteers work in a group setting to empower others, and encourage them to make new connections and friendships.
It is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and learn valuable new skills.

We are recruiting suitably skilled people to join the Board to help deliver our vision and mission.
If you are passionate about equality, diversity, inclusion, and social justice, then this could be the volunteering role you’ve been looking for.
Applicants should have a passion and commitment to build a collective voice to champion equality, diversity, inclusion and social justice, along with the ability to provide strong governance and direction to ensure the delivery of our objectives.
These Trustee positions are voluntary, however, out-of-pocket expenses will be met.

International Day of Charity 5 September: Charity at its core is an expression of global solidarity. It brings people together to build more just and resilient societies, whether through direct giving, volunteering, or collective action. Beyond immediate aid, charity strengthens healthcare, education, cultural preservation, and the protection of vulnerable groups (OECD). Today, charity and philanthropy alike are evolving to address the deeper causes of poverty and inequality.
Scottish Learning Disability Week 7 to 13 September: A learning disability is different for everyone. No two people are the same. Challenges faced by people with learning disabilities can vary widely. In all cases a learning disability is lifelong.
A learning disability affects the way a person learns new things throughout their life.
International Day to Protect Education from Attack 9 September: The International Day to Protect Education from Attack takes place every year on 9 September. Proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2020, the day draws attention to attacks on students, teachers, schools and universities in conflict zones, and calls on governments and communities to safeguard the right to education during armed conflict.
World Suicide Prevention Day 10 September: World Suicide Prevention Day unites global communities every September 10 to raise awareness and foster a collective commitment to preventing suicide. Join the conversation, learn vital warning signs, and empower yourself to offer support. Discover resources and take action to create hope and save lives.

Our Partners' News and Events
Everyone’s Environment: Voices 2026
Is a paid leadership programme for people in Scotland from Black, Asian, and minoritised ethnic backgrounds.
The programme is for people with lived experience of inequality who are already active in their communities through volunteering, organising, campaigning, or as trusted local voices.
Running from October 2026 to July 2027, it offers online training, mentoring, and peer support to develop skills in storytelling, working with the media, and influencing decision-makers.
Participants will also have opportunities to share their experiences publicly and help shape more inclusive conversations about climate and social justice.

HAG: Knowledge, Power & Alchemy through Craft
This popular exhibition is back running across Scotland at 4 venues (Inverness Museum and Gallery, Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries, Kirkcudbright Galleries, and concluding at The Dick Institute, Kilmarnock) through 2027.
Looking at the work of female craft artists who are impactful celebrating the knowledge, power & alchemy mediated by their work, the exhibition and photography together celebrate craft skills and approaches to practice developed by these significant women over decades of work and personal endeavour.
Fife Contemporary - Celebrating 20 years:
Fife Contemporary will be marking its 20th anniversary in 2026. This important organisation for the cultural life of Fife and across Scotland is marking this landmark year with a new exhibition, Dear Earth.
Dear Earth runs across a full year, from opening on 21 March 2026 in Kirkcaldy Galleries to closing at St Andrews Museum on 6 March 2027. Fire Contemporary are announcing a satellite programme of events to accompany the exhibition, bringing together artists from across disciplines to respond to the environmental and social themes addressed in Dear Earth.

Fife's Gaelic Language Plan 2026-2031:
From Fife Council: "Fife's Gaelic Language Plan 2026–2031 sets out how the Council and its partners will strengthen Gaelic across Fife by:
Increasing the range and frequency of opportunities to use Gaelic in community life, supported by Gaelic learning and cultural activity. (Community support)
Supporting Gaelic language and cultural activities for people across a wide range of ages and interests. (Support in the home; Creative industries)
Promoting and supporting access to Gaelic education in early years, primary and secondary settings. (0-18 Education)
Expanding post‑school and adult learning of Gaelic through community‑based programmes and learning delivered through the medium of Gaelic. (Post-school and adult learning)
Strengthening partnerships to support delivery of the Plan. (Public Authorities)
Strengthening Fife Council’s own role in supporting the Gaelic language through planned delivery, partnership working and stronger links to wider policy. (Public Authorities)

Café Inc Family Survey:
Cafe Inc makes sure that the Kingdom's children and young people (under 18) will have at least one tasty and healthy meal per day, while our nurseries and schools are closed over the holidays.

Your experience of homelessness in Fife:
Fife Council, in partnership with Turning Point Scotland, would like to hear from people like you, who have experienced homelessness. Your insights will help us understand what the reasons for homelessness in Fife are, and if anything could have been done earlier to prevent you becoming homeless.
Some topics may feel sensitive – please only share what you feel comfortable sharing and you can stop at any time.

Hill of Beath and Lumphinnans Action Plan:
Fife Council and the Hill of Beath and Lumphinnans Steering groups, consisting of community partners and local residents. are developing a new Community Action Plan (CAP) to guide priorities for the next five years. Your views will help shape the People and Place themes that matter most to the community.

Kirkcaldy Area Transport Plan Final Consultation:
We would like your views on transport in and around the Kirkcaldy area to help shape the Kirkcaldy Area Transport Plan.
The purpose of this consultation is to allow the community to share their views on the Action Plan for improving travel and connectivity in your area.
Area Transport Plans are designed to support fair and sustainable access for all to everyday activities by walking, wheeling, cycling, public transport or other vehicles. There is supporting information with this questionnaire that explains the community input from groups and residents so far that has helped identify transport problems and develop the plan for the Kirkcaldy area.
