Out and About:

This month Lewis was out and about taking part in refresher training as part of the White Ribbon Scotland initiative! For those that don't know, White Ribbon is an international campaign that focuses on how men can assist in eliminating violence against women.
The training session was very engaging, and focused on strategies such as de-escalation, safe reporting methods and helped raise awareness of the wide range of types of violence against women.
White Ribbon Fife has a steering group that FCE is a part of, it's a great opportunity to get involved with the campaign and make new connections. It's open to organisations and individuals alike who are passionate about helping eliminate violence against women.
If you have any questions or require more information, please contact us at info@centreforequalities.org.uk, phone us on 01592 645310 or text us on 07800 005834.
Fife Inclusion Network:
Fife Inclusion Network (FIN) hosted our April Get-Together on 29th April 2026 at Greener Kirkcaldy, bringing everyone together to reflect on the past year of inclusion network journey.
On the day, FIN team welcomed all of our guests for joining the gathering with some light lunch, tea/coffee. The team presented a talk on the work we have focused on from our core aims over the past year and will continue to strengthen the connections and support for the minority ethnic communities and the wider communities, collaborating with partners organisations, creating more inclusive Get-Together and spaces in Fife. We were delighted to have partner representatives from Cosy Kingdom and Fife Carers Centre who shared a talk about their support and services they offer and provided information to our guests. Clients shared their feedback on their experience so far and what support FIN project could expand on in the 2nd year of the project.
Our next Get-Together will be on 20th May visiting Aberdour Castle, more details will follow on our event page Events | FCE.

Commonwealth Mile (Active Fife):
May is National Walking Month, and Active Fife are delighted to launch this year's walking challenge – The Commonwealth Mile.
The goal is simple: we want as many people as possible in Fife to walk, wheel or cycle at least 1 mile every day throughout May. That's 31 miles over the month - or more if you choose to set yourself a bigger goal.

Fife Contemporary - Celebrating 20 years:
Fife Contemporary will be marking its 20th anniversary in 2026. This important organisation for the cultural life of Fife and across Scotland is marking this landmark year with a new exhibition, Dear Earth.
Dear Earth runs across a full year, from opening on 21 March 2026 in Kirkcaldy Galleries to closing at St Andrews Museum on 6 March 2027. Fire Contemporary are announcing a satellite programme of events to accompany the exhibition, bringing together artists from across disciplines to respond to the environmental and social themes addressed in Dear Earth.
Africa Day:
Africa Day is an annual global celebration that honours the unity, diversity, and cultural richness of the African continent. This year marks the very first time such an event will be hosted in Fife, and we are excited to bring together families, community leaders, cultural organisations, and friends of Africa for a vibrant and meaningful celebration.

Consultations to look out for
Boundary changes to North Glenrothes and Auchmuty & Woodside Community Council areas:
Fife Council is seeking views on a proposed change to the boundary of the North Glenrothes Community Council area. North Glenrothes Community Council has requested that its boundary be extended to include a section of land that currently sits within the inactive Auchmuty and Woodside Community Council area.
The proposed boundary change will have no impact on school catchment areas, ward boundaries, or polling districts.
The Council is leading this consultation to ensure that residents and stakeholders in the affected community council areas have the opportunity to comment on the proposal. Your feedback will help the Council determine whether the proposed change reflects the views and interests of the community.
